Tips to keep them coming back for more

Are you running out of answers to why you cannot seem to attract a loyal following to your blog? Do you get plenty of first time visitors and cannot seem to get them to come back. Just maybe, it is the content on your blog. Most visitors to blogs are looking for something and probably found your page from a search engine while searching a keyword. Here is your first and only chance to wow them and hook them into becoming a regular visitor.

If you have never heard this before, let me be the first to say it “Content is King”and if your page lacks valuable content it will be ignored. The trouble may not be getting people to your blog; rather keeping them interested is more than likely the problem.

So, how do you go about giving your visitors a reason to keep coming back? First and foremost, a fresh supply of content and make it relevant. Next don’t over clutter your page with too much stuff. Nothing turns a visitor off faster than a blog that is just too busy. Limit your side bar to a few things like a free gift and your opt-in maybe and single ad box if you are monetizing your blog. I highly recommend a blog roll service (follow this blog) where your visitors can get notifications when you post new content.

By all means, never post just anything to have fresh content, this is a sure fire way to run off any new visitors. No matter what your blog is about, you need to make sure you post only relevant content so the search engines can find it. Regularly post new entries to keep it fresh. If you are having difficulty keep up with your content, leave me a comment and I can help you with it.

If you are having trouble keeping up with adding new content you can always find a source for this content. This type service can be quite expensive if you don’t look in the right place. Some content writers charge quite a bit of money to produce content for you. I am willing to offer my services and we can discuss the cost through email or Skype.

Jon, you are so right. Content is king and it is pretty much the life bread of your business. Whether you are blogging or writing articles it is still important. People on the internet are searching for something in particular. Most of the time it is the answer to a problem. As people, who are providing that information we want it to be valuable to our readers.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kay,

Very well said. If we don’t provide our readers with what they are looking for they will just go elsewhere.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

First of all, I have to say exceptional post. The answer to keep them coming back is absolutely fresh content, regularly. Putting up anything wont cut it. We need to keep it directly relating to our site.
You laid out some fantastic tips on where to locate content, as well as offering help to those having trouble working on their blog sites. Afterall, if our sites is relating to marketing , we don’t want to post something irrelevant to our niche.otherwise we will be losing our visitors left and right. Neither, do we want to abandon our site for weeks at a time. Thanks for a well written post Jon.

Excellent post Jon and you are so right – the content is king and keeping it fresh – more and more are looking online for help these days – looking for ways to earn money – what they need to do is weed out the people that are out there to rip them off and that is why I feel that our blogs are a great way to show them that we are honest people just like them. We want to help them as we have learned so much the hard way and want to share our experiences – thanks for the post.

Awesome post again Jon. Finding topics to write about is one of the biggest trials any blogger can face, but with a little thinking outside the box that can be quickly solved. I totally agree content indeed is king. Thanks Jon.
