Keys to Successful Listbuilding

Filed in Internet Marketing 26 comments

The life blood of any Internet Marketing business is the list of names
and email addresses also know as your “List”, with this list every
successful Internet Marketer promotes their latest products to make
their income. I have found that not all Internet Marketers build and
maintain their lists the same and it is a very individual thing. I
personally am on several marketers lists from products I have either
purchased or was given as gift. So I know that not all of these people
treat the people on their list the same.

For the most part I only hear from these marketers when they want to
sell me something and I am sure that is how they were taught. I am not
hear to bad mouth anyone’s techniques on Internet Marketing, I am
however, going to tout the techniques I am learning from a certain
successful Internet Marketer; Craig Caron. He is the lead mentor at
Family Networker and along with Nancy Radlinger, they are teaching a
much different way to list building.

Anyone can build a list by collecting names and email addresses and
push out tons of product offers and make some money, but in order to
keep the people on your list motivated, you need to give them a reason
to read your emails and not just dread opening the next email from
you.

– You can do this in a couple of different ways; offer a free download
offer of a report.
– You can out an email with some helpful tips covering the topic that
they joined your list for.

Just remember that they are just not a email address that you send out
offers that you want them to buy, they are people looking for
something to enhance their business and therefore you must continue to
offer great quality stuff.

Pay close attention to your list to see if you notice any trends that
lead people to drop off your list and if you have to adjust your
technique a bit, by all means do it.

One aspect of life that I have learned before I got into Internet
Marketing was; you will never get rich working for someone else. I am
learning that I can apply that to my Internet Marketing business as
well, I create my own products and by building my own list and
marketing to them, I become the boss. This does not mean you cannot
become successful with affiliate marketing (selling someone products)
you don’t have control over the quality of the product or you don’t
get to set the price based on your needs.

As my mentor told me, find a niche, create a product and build your
list and make some cash!!! It really does not get much easier than
that.

Don’t settle for someones marketing products, use your God given
talents and create your own stuff and grow your business. If you are
looking for a place that has all the resources you need, I have the
best place on the internet; Familynetworker.com. You will find
training through webinars, videos and fellowship with all the other
members, all for F*R*E*E.

Hi Jon,

You make some very good points here. I think it comes down to this:

How Do you want to build your business, your List?
Do you want to take the be more personal path or do you want to keep it strict business like bigger companies do it?

There are many ways of doing this, some works better then others and some suit your personality better and that is what We can learn in Family Networkers.

Be Yourself…

When you first start out you get better results by being more personal, make sure your support is fast and top notch and like you says, don’t just send product after product… contact, interact and so on is crucial.

Many talk about Building your List… But I’m sure they mean, building different list’s for different reasons… But all together is your Business (List).

Thank You again Jon

Jon,

Another insightful post and yes it is so true how many times you only hear from some marketers when they have something to sell, or are pretending to give you something of value, but only after you buy something..Thanks for the post and it is great to be a family member with you on Family Networker!!!

HI Jon,

You are very right majority of people are just after you to sell you something for their benefit. Its great to know there is people that are out to help not just to receive something in return.

Thanks again,

This is great Jon. You truly are sharinf some very valuable information. I know when I get those messages from some of the lists I am on; I hate to even open them because I know it is just something they will be trying to sell me. I firmly agree with “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. I would like to get to know my “lists” and not just sell to them. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Jon,

I love this post. You hit on very important points here and are so right! I particularly liked the point that the addresses on your list are not just email addresses, they are real people and need to be treated as such. I think many marketers know this but lose its true meaning over time.

Great post!

Hey Jon.

Very well said and thank you for the great compliment.

One thing i would like to add.

Having communication with your list keeps you inside your business. Your speaking the business language. Your pushing yourself forward and accelerating your business to the next level. Plus it keeps you on your feet and gives you energy and motivation. I mean think about it? You provide motivation for your audience and you audience gives back which drives you even more.

It’s really more than just keeping your audience entertained. Everything you do from the content you give to the relationship you form with your audience, it drives consistency which forges to true trust in your audience.

Thanks Jon
